  • Mobile

The latest version of iOS 17, iOS 17.1.2, has been released, along with the macOS Sonoma 14.1.2 version by Apple. The tech giant describes the update as a crucial security patch, making its installation highly recommended. This follows the release of iOS 17.1.1 on November 7, which brought good news for BMW owners, as wireless chargers in their cars became functional with iPhones once again.

In addition to addressing security concerns, Apple is actively working on the next version, iOS 17.2, which promises several enhancements for iPhones. This includes the introduction of the Journal app, shared playlists on Apple Music, and the integration of new Clock and Weather widgets into the system.

How to Update to iOS 17.1.2

The update is now available. To install it, open Settings, navigate to General, and select Software Update, where iOS 17.1.2 should appear after a short wait. The size of the update may vary but is typically around a few hundred megabytes, depending on the device.

Before proceeding with the update, it is advisable to create a backup to prevent potential data loss. Although the risk is minimal, it’s better to be safe than sorry. After downloading, the installation process takes approximately 10-15 minutes based on previous experiences.

Supported Devices

iOS 17.1 is compatible with the following iPhones: iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 14 Pro Max, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro Max, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max, iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro Max, iPhone XR, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone SE (3rd generation), and iPhone SE (2nd generation).

Stay tuned for more updates, as Apple continues to enhance the user experience with each new release. Whether it’s improved security or exciting new features, keeping your device up to date ensures you get the most out of your Apple ecosystem.
